Q. What is the difference between D.I.D’s X-Ring and O-Ring?
A. D.I.D’s X-Ring is about 50% lower friction and delivers 50% to 100% longer wear resistance.

Q. What is the difference between D.I.D’s X-Ring and other brands " low friction" style O-Ring?
A. D.I.D’s X-Ring twists under pressure from the side plates reducing friction compared to other type squashed designs. Please see comparison chart.

Q. Are X-Rings weaker than O-Rings?
A. D.I.D’s X-Rings have 1.8 times greater durability than conventional O-Rings.

Q. Does my D.I.D X-Ring or O-Ring chain require lubrication?
A. Your chain’s X-Ring or O-Ring holds special D.I.D V Grease between the pins and the bushings only. Your X-Ring or O-Ring chain does require lubrication between the bushings and the rollers to help extend their life. In addition, your X-Ring or O-Ring chain also requires external lubrication to protect against ozone damage and to extend the life of the chain’s X-Ring and O-Ring.

Q. What is the recommended lubrication for my D.I.D X-Ring or O-Ring Chain?
A. It is recommended that you use D.I.D Special Grease, or SAE 80-90 oil.

Q. How often should my D.I.D X-Ring or O-Ring chain be lubricated?
A. Ideally, you should lubricate your chain every 300-400 miles (500-640km).

Q. What is the recommended solvent for cleaning my D.I.D X-Ring or O-Ring chain?
A. It is recommended that you wash your chain in paraffin. Never use steam, volatile solvents, petrol or benzine. After cleaning, you must lubricate your X-Ring or O-Ring chain with the above recommended grease or oil.
