Here are the power transformers in the process of polishing. After this test run, I did remove the bells to fully polish them.
I start first by sanding them with some 320 grit to remove the paint and then some 400 grit to smooth it out.
I cheated on these by using some white tripoli and a 6" cotton wheel on my bench grinder to polish.
I finished with some hand polishing using SimiChrome metal polish and a soft towel.
