Klipsch Cornwall III Replicas

The motorboards were CNC cut to fit the drivers. The rest of the cabinet was cut on my table saw.

The back is sealed. I designed a custom internal brace for the cabinet; shown inside and from the front.

The front was spray painted a semi-flat black, some sanding and the back was painted a satin black using a short nap roller.

Here is the base mockup, getting ready to install the threaded inserts and cutting the veneer.

I used Better Bond Heat Lock glue. You roll it on the veneer and the cabinet and let it dry. It is then ironed on.

The raw waterfall bubinga veneer on one side is done. Using a wood clamp to install the star nuts. Both cabinets veneered.

After sanding to 400 grit, I used Liberon Finishing Oil. The first coats go on. The 3D veneer shows its depth.

The drivers are mounted. The crossovers with their integral speaker jacks. The finished product with 5 coats of finish.

All complete and time to start listening with some low power 2A3 amplification.
